Drive 15 minutes. Huntington Beach. 30 minutes. No parking. Give up.

Drive 15 minutes to Irvine.

Drive 15 minutes to Huntington Beach. 10 minutes of driving around Beach Blvd. Decent parking. Walk 15 minutes. Make 10 calls. Wait for someone to pick up. Wait for a ride. Walk in the meantime. Walk some more. Walk 45 minutes. Say hi. Grab a piece of chicken. 10 minutes. Get a ride back to my car. 20 minutes in traffic. Fireworks start to go off. Drive towards the freeway and then back towards the beach before getting there. 25 minutes. Feel the noise through the windows and the road. End up stopped in traffic long enough to catch the last 30 seconds of fireworks in Back Bay.

3 hours of travel for ultimately 10 minutes and 30 seconds of something. I've got to find a better way to celebrate.
