i know i don't say it often enough, so...

Hello.

I'm still learning how to swim. I chose a great time. Jumped in right when the current is strongest--in the opposite direction I need to go. Needless to say, I've been pushed back farther than I wanted, but I didn't have much of a choice anyway. Now that I've got my legs behind me, I'm making some headway, but the distance is so great... I'm so far from where I've started. And I think of stopping all the time, but I can't let myself.

... but if I ever do get there, will there be anyone left sticking around?

I'm seeing this through. If only to avoid the regret from not knowing what's at the finish.
