flash

One of the aspects I love most about photography is it's ability to take a slice out time and lay it out in far more detail than you can ever expect to gather at any single moment. Studying how light plays into photography has opened up things for me I didn't realize were possible; flash in particular, can take ever smaller pieces of time and flush them into a coherence that isn't possible by other means.

I drove home yesterday. Strange, that being a statement in its own. Somewhere close to the Orange county/San Bernardino county border, a flash in the midnight sky caught my eye; it was maybe the 4th shooting star I've seen while driving. This one was something else though. It burned in my vision for several moments brighter than any other that I can remember. I wonder what kind of photograph that flash would make.
