I just woke up. It's past 1:00 pm. I missed 2 of my classes, and that means 10 more points I'll never see for physics. Good thing I did well on the midterm. I was actually motivated to go, because there was a cute girl that I saw last week that I haven't seen in discussion before. Then again, I've only been to three discussions out of seven. That's what happens when you stay up late talking about things that really tear you up inside. Like war and propaganda and our seeming grim near future. At least a new day brings promise of something else... too bad it's already 1:15... I'm half nocturnal again, but I always was a night person. Shoot! I just realized I'm missing the peace rally on campus. It's really hard to get involved when you sleep late. I'm sure there will be more protesting though. I think I just might join them.

First things first however.. I need to take a shower.
A heavy subject to write about my first time through... after a very deep conversation about the impending war in Iraq and the things that not enough people hear about, I'm at a loss to figure out what to do about it. As I write this, a couple of hundred thousand American soldiers are being prepared for an invasion, except the war has already begun. For the uninformed, an estimated 500,000 to 1.5 million people have already died from sanctions imposed by the Evil Empire (I mean the US) on Iraq. That disgusts me. Some of my tax dollars have helped to keep Iraqi children from getting sanitary water. We are paying let the federal government starve and destroy innocent civilian lives. I refuse to buy into Bush's schemes to strike at the axis of evil. Why is he just ignoring North Korea, which we know has nukes? Could it be that America wants cheap oil? Should we "defend" our country by decimating a people ruled by a tyrant? Hows about we just kick some evildoer butt. And then take over the oil (killing) fields. Sounds like a plan if I've ever heard one. Our Christian president is doing some very irresponsible things with human lives, not to mention the rest of our government that's pushing this war down our throats until we swallow it. God help us all. The world is a scary place to live in at the moment. I wonder how it must feel to be an atheist right now?

What have you bought into?
